SkinID
SkinID is a set of products, all claiming to be the best. They claim that you take their test, they give you an individualized set of 3 products including things like washes, scrubs, lotions, toners, and you get the basic idea. It’s like Proactiv, but personalized to you, and judging by their test, it seems valid enough. In each product we’ve explored, they do have valid ingredients. These ingredients have been proven to eliminate some cases of acne in some cases and in other cases refresh the skin to some degree such as you would find with green tea.
However, SkinID products are really nothing special. While they say they have literally hundreds of different formulas, they have about 3 or maybe 4 under different numbers. They have a formulas based around only the most common of ingredients that you have probably already tried like vitamin A, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and green tea. There have been many complaints of side effects, especially among those who apparently specified sensitive skin.
SkinID is nothing special. It will only damage your skin, and you could definitely find something better. SkinID products are all based on only the most common of ingredients and otherwise, and just like any other product you’ve already tried, they will in all likelihood just cause more skin damage and irritation among other things while doing no better in getting rid of your acne again than anything else you’ve already tried.
I ordered Skin ID and tried it for few months. I didn’t want to give up on it after a couple weeks, I wanted to give it time and see if it would work. It didn’t so I called to cancel, and have an unopened box that they wont let me send back. They only let you send back the first box for your money if it doesn’t work. I find this quite ridiculous that they wont let you return their product if it doesn’t work. I’m not an angry person that normal writes negative feed back about things, but I just think that is a horrible way to treat people that have been clients for a few months trying to give your product a try. I’m very very disappointed with skin iD, their customer service, and their return policy.

Basically, it felt like I was packing lotion/oil on my face. First, I washed my face with some non-exfoliating lotion, washed it off, & then put on some other lotion, which made it hard to move my face and THAT led to my next lotion which made my face able to move, but it also made it oily. I used this product for about a year and a half and finally called it quits because it was just a waste of money. My friends always commented on how oily my face was while I was using it, so I reduced my portions of the lotions to a pea size & asked them if my skin was still oily. And they said yes. I have NEVER had that bad of oily skin before. It was embarrassing. Now that it has been about 8 months since I’ve used it and I have been using ProActiv, my skin is no longer oily & I have decently clear face which I am very proud of (: I do NOT recommend Skin ID. Expensive & totally not worth it.
