Cheap Acne Treatments

October 1st, 2009

Acne treatments are hard to find, and in tougher times, cheap acne treatments that actually work are even harder to find.  This being said, you want to find a good price, but you always want to find good ingredients, and usually even the expensive acne treatments are quite frankly way too expensive, far more expensive than they should be.  But those like Dr Perricone’s line for example depend entirely on name, not formula.

So first of all, stop buying name brand products!  They aren’t going to help you to get rid of acne, and so far I’ve seen no exception to this rule.  Second, start looking outside your local grocery store.  You can get a good price without going to the depths of the grocery store and all its junk.

When you get this done, the best place is to actually look on the internet, not at all the department stores which would just list name brand products.  On the internet, there is a whole wide world of acne treatments, and many times they provide more information than those you might find for expensive prices and in small bottles at the department store.  Some of these products are based on more than one acne fighter, and some don’t use the usual suspects such as benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.  That’s a big improvement, whether you see it or not. There are other ingredients that are more proven than the usual, and you can find them through really great products on the internet that are also affordable cheap acne treatments.

Causes For Acne Vulgaris

September 29th, 2009

Acne vulgaris is quite literally the most common type of acne you will find anywhere in the world. Teenagers, babies, adults, and everybody else who suffers from acne most likely suffers from acne vulgaris and its causes, and therefore the treatments for acne vulgaris, as widely distributed as they may be, give you the best chance at dealing with your particular case, if you can determine which acne vulgaris treatment is right for you.

There are multiple causes of acne vulgaris. The most popularly known contributor rather is excess levels of oil in the skin. This being said, if you reduce not all oil production, but excess oil production, you will ideally be able to get rid of some acne. Likewise, if you kill off the bacteria building up in your pores, whether by detoxifying the body or using an antibacterial from the outside, you will be able to address that contributor. But the big thing that many have found effective is actually to change their diet.

They say that diet doesn’t cause acne, well it certainly contributes to it. This being said, cutting out things like excess fats, chocolate, and sugar would be a good thing. No it doesn’t cause acne, but they certainly make it worse, and they also contribute to other common problems and conditions. So if you change your diet, you will end up with more than you previously imagined in benefits.

Acne vulgaris is one classification of acne. It is extremely common, and quite frankly the chances of you suffering from another kind of acne are slim to none to say the least. Its contributors are very basic, though like any other type of acne, its actual cause is unknown at this particular time.

Exercise And Acne

September 25th, 2009

Now exercise is a complicated thing.  It makes you sweat, meaning that really if you want to keep your skin clear and keep back acne away, you want to definitely wash your body really well after exercising, and you should be sweating.  It’s good for your heart to exert that kind of energy, it’s good for burning fat, in general terms it’s really good for you to actually get out there and exercise.  But it’s more than that.

It’s not just about the fact that it will help you to achieve greater body benefits.  Actually, if you cleanse your body after, exercise is actually helping you to keep clear skin not just aggravating it with the sweat.  You are getting your heart pumping, and you are sweating out a certain number of impurities and otherwise.  Now obviously, if those sit on the skin and are allowed to soak back in, that won’t work and it will only make it worse.  But if you are actually all together getting rid of your impurities and otherwise as is possible if you are using a good workout, then you should definitely see greater results than you would naturally associate at times with workouts and for that matter with acne in general.

Severe Acne

September 24th, 2009

Now my roommate is always on about her acne.  She has serious issues in general with her acne, and she hates it.  She always thinks it’s a huge deal, and yet when she puts on makeup, they’re small enough that you honestly couldn’t even tell.  This being said, I would say that she does actually have a severe case of acne.  I mean when she takes off her makeup, you can definitely see it, and she has this thing about how she would rather be married and have acne than be single and have acne.  It’s logical enough I guess.

But that being said, I see her using masks all the time.  She’s been through about every acne treatment in the book including things like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tea tree oil, retinol, different forms of vitamin A.  Basically speaking, if it has been used for acne, she has already used it, because I named off quite a few she could try, even including something that isn’t so much a major acne treatments so much as a complimentary acne treatment such as witch hazel.  The only thing I don’t think she’s tried yet is Accutane, and frankly even with severe acne in many cases I wouldn’t recommend it due to all the related problems.  This being said, it’s definitely not the usual case.  Usually speaking, there is always some kind of acne treatment that works well.  But in some cases, you just really have to wait it out.

Prescription Acne Treatment

September 23rd, 2009

Now frankly speaking, your doctor won’t always do what’s in your best interest.  I’ve never met a dermatologist who will recommend natural treatments for example, even if they’re cheaper, less risky, have fewer side effects, or otherwise they are more effective.  This is because why do you really need to go to them if you can get it elsewhere and otherwise over the counter.

They won’t tell you that you can get benzoyl peroxide they’re giving you over the counter at a cheaper price, that would just be losing them money.  They are often actually getting paid by companies if only with lunch to promote certain products, and oftentimes doctors don’t actually do all their research, they just listen to what they are being told at that time, which really isn’t all that helpful to you.

This being said, I actually switched dermatologists, because he decided that I was a good candidate for an experimental treatment they were trying to test out without actually telling me.  That wasn’t pretty, and there was a reason they were still experimenting, trying to determine all the side effects.  It never actually made it to the popular market.  But after that, actually I ended up dropping dermatologists in favor of natural treatments after a few months with another dermatologist.  So all I’m saying is don’t take medical ways as your only ways in terms of actually dealing with something such as acne.

Gold As An Acne Treatment

September 22nd, 2009

In some ways, I have always been more of a silver fan than a gold fan.  When I saw celebrities putting gold creams on their skin, I always thought it was ridiculous, and I’ve never understood the greater value placed upon it.  I mean realistically speaking, silver is used for so many other things, and to me it looks less gaudy to say the least.  But this being said, gold now has a new use.  It is a powerful antioxidant even capable of producing more collagen in the skin to firm it up and otherwise.

It has to be 24k gold or it won’t have the same effect, and quite frankly speaking, gold will kill off the free radicals and even the bacteria that contributes to acne and contributes to weakened and damaged skin in general.  So realistically speaking, gold is better than any other antioxidant in certain ways.  Gold has been used in some soaps and lotions now to not only kill off acne, but also to brighten up and clear the skin

It has been known to improve the skin as a whole, and frankly gold’s benefits in general are really coming to light lately.  I am definitely seeing the new benefits, and I would highly recommend its use for the common acne fighter and individual who wants to just see a generalized improvement in their skin.

Rooibos Tea For Acne

September 21st, 2009

Ever since a trip to South Africa about 5 years ago now, I’ve had a thing for Rooibos tea.  Rooibos tea is extremely effective in terms of being tasty, and it’s rather relaxing.  And of course, as a tea in general, it is extremely rich in antioxidants, which means that it could kill off harmful free radicals among other things.  It is being hailed currently as the next big health revolution, and they have claimed it could be used to treat acne, promote weight loss, and achieve various other benefits in general.

It has since then been proven to actually work as a powerful anti-mutagenic, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-carcinogenic, and antioxidant.  So with all of these things in mind, it targets the bacteria, inflammation, and otherwise problems often associated with your acne.  So it’s one of those things that is so easy, and yet it can make such a big difference.  I mean you can definitely stick the tea bags over your eyes or spread it across the face.  But I would personally suggest just drinking it.  It’s a good taste and it has extremely positive benefits.  Either way, Rooibos tea is definitely something to consider, and in some ways, it might even be better than green tea for example.

Honey Acne Treatment

September 17th, 2009

Honey is one of the most powerful natural antibacterials many have seen lately.  And frankly, in a time when everybody is looking to save a little money, natural honey by itself or used in a mask without preservatives or anything like that is cheap.  You don’t need preservatives, because honey is the one food in the world that does not actually rot.  So I’m not exactly clear on why any brands use them.  But anyway, that being said, raw honey has enzymes and it is a powerful antibacterial and antifungal, even than heated honey for example.

This being said, if you use it on your face, it can not only get rid of acne, it can also soften and strengthen your skin without causing any damage in general.  It can be easily combined with other ingredients to make it easier and more effective in various other ways that you should choose.  But lately, it’s most popular usage has been to treat acne while also preventing future acne breakouts.  It may be sticky, which is misleading.  But it’s definitely worth the time and effort.  You really can’t go wrong using honey for skin improvement and acne fighting benefits in general, and it’s something that you might use now or benefit from down the road.

Zinc For Acne

September 7th, 2009

Zinc is one of the most obvious ways to deal with acne.  Zinc supplements have been used, even when your body is not deficient in zinc, as it is highly unlikely for it to be in all actuality.  You should not have too much zinc, as that can cause side effects and problems of its own.  However, if you have the right amount of zinc, you can quite easily get rid of some of your acne.  But if you are looking for extra sources of zinc, there are a few things that you can try.

For example, you can eat more oysters.  They are extremely rich in zinc, as are cashews.  Chickpeas, chicken, and low fat dairy products follow the same pattern, and you can see why most people generally speaking don’t have a problem finding foods that provide a greater source of zinc in general.  However, having more of course raises your chances and gives you the greater possibilities as a whole that you are actively looking for in finally dealing with your acne once and for all.  But of course, keep in mind that you should never be deficient in any major or essential vitamin in general.

Aspirin Masks

September 7th, 2009

Aspirin has been used in crushed form as an acne treatment ingredient for homemade masks.  It has been known to reduce inflammation when taken internally of course, and it has been used in various professionally made treatment creams, serums, etc to again reduce inflammation that may cause acne to look worse, cause wrinkles, or otherwise cause skin damage in general as a result of other things for the most part such as sun damage and bacteria for example.  But it has been used in various forms.

You can of course get the aspirin you find in pills, which is rather easy to crush up for the most part.  But you can also get one called white willow bark.  No matter which one you choose, you basically mix it with water, and it also has the tendency to wash away dead skin cells from the face while otherwise reducing excess oils and other problems.  Aspirin is one of the best ingredients for your generalized needs.  It is an easy mask to use, convenient, and yet extremely effective while also being of course extremely cheap.  So at the very least, it’s one to consider if you are looking for a serious acne treatment.
